Carlos Alberto Tévez (born Carlos Alberto Martínez on 5 February 1984) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays currently as a forward for English club Manchester City. He is one of the superstar of Argentinian football in the same way as Messi and Aguero.

Tevez is a highly technical player that will not be afraid to play as a classic striker or behind the main striker. His fighting mentality has helped him to gain appreciation with fans everywhere he has played.

His only weakness can be his lack of commitment as he has not played for a club for more than 2 years.

Trivia:

When he was young Carlos Tevez was badly burned and has a scar that run from his neck to his chest. This was a consequence of boiling water.

Althought Boca Juniors offered to help him remove these scars surgically he has always refused.

He was the first non-Brazilian to win the best player award in the Brazilian league since 1976.

As a punishment for leaving the ground early, he was sanctioned by his team mate to train in a Brazilian jersey. Carlos Tevez refused this.

He was named Hammer of the year in 2007 (West Ham’s award)

He scored the goal that helped West Ham beat Man Utd in the 2007 season final game and thus stay in the Premier League. He then left West Ham to play for United at the beginning of the following season.

Tévez is married and his wife is named Vanesa. They  have two daughters together: Florencia and Katia

Carlos Tevez also performs as frontman for a musical group Piola Vago together with his brother Diego.
